see, school can be fun
It's hard to get kids to come to school on half-days. I'll be honest; as a teacher, it's hard for me to see the point myself. As motivation to come on in on our most recent half-day, the faculty got together & offered several different activities in which students could participate. My friend & co-worker, Elisa, and I agreed to sponser a knitting class. We taught them to cast on & to knit. Maybe we'll get to purl on our next half-day! I think that the day was a huge success. It gave us a chance to just "hang out" with our kids, and they really seemed to enjoy learning something new--something that won't show up on the almighty T-CAP tests.

what my heart says
just so you know..
Your Candy Heart Says "Get Real" |
![]() You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love. You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart. Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!) Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic What turns you off: romantic expectations and "greeting card" holidays Why you're hot: you don't just play hard to get - you are hard to get |
How lucky was I to find someone just as much a "cynic when it comes to love" (and everything else) as I? Speaking of my wonderful husband & Valentine's Day...we're getting take out sushi & having dinner at home tomorrow night. I have parent conferences tomorrow from 4:30-7:30, so I'll just barely make it home in time to see Molly before she goes to bed. Lots of the folks I work with are pissed about being at school until 7:30 on V-day, but, since it's a stupid holiday anyway, I don't really care.

the BTB gets even bigger!
the BTB recently enjoyed her very first tea party courtesy of her friend Finny...

she's really into picking out her own outfits these days--as evidenced by her Halloween shirt (in February! she'll probably want to start wearing white before Easter, too!) and the oh-so-sassy Jackie O.-ish hat...

she may be growing up quickly, but here's hoping she never gets too big for some good, old-fashioned tickle time!

Those of you who know Jerad know that he is the mouthpiece for the Brewer family--therefore, I've tried to get him to start contributing to our lushpuppy efforts. come one, come all!
Everyone is cordially invited to our Winter Exhibit Opening at Chattanooga Middle Museum Magnet School (1219 W. Mississippi Ave. in North Chattanooga) at 6:00 tonight!
As you can see, we've all been hard at work getting our work ready to display...

I don't know yet if we will get to make it to the opening tonight or not. The BTB started running a high fever after we got home from school yesterday. She was pretty cranky, didn't want to eat, and just wanted to lay around, which are all very un-Beelike traits. We stayed home today as a precaution--there've been a couple of bugs going around--and so far she seems fine--no fever & she has her mighty Kong appetite back. Just in case we aren't able to make it, here's a daily dose of cuteness courtesy of Bee...

she thought that her turkey & avacado sandwich might make a good hair treatment to tame those pesky flyaways
